I hear/see them all day out of my office window in Milverton! In fact I can hear them right now, almost constant. Outside the window is a herb field.
Also I see and hear them most days when I walk near the river Tone at Runnington, also around The Basins and surrounding fields in Wellington.

I am regularly hearing greenfinches now; one in our garden for the first time. Last year I heard four in Wells. Two the year before. They seem to be making a good comeback in Somerset, and I think the RSPB Garden Birdwatch has now confirmed that nationally too. I remember times when whole flocks of them would visit garden feeders! Better than ring necked parakeets…
