A Short Eared Owl was hunting over Chilton Moor at 2000hrs Thurs. evening
SEO seen again this morning at Ham Wall. Flushed from the west side of Waltons and again at the back minutes later (9.30am). Also had a report of 2 SEO from Weds evening (13th) that were hunting along the wide bank next to the South drain visible from the old rail bridge as you enter the reserve.
2 Short-eared Owls were hunting along the river Brue banks , south of Tealham Moor this evening.
West Moor, nr Hambridge. One disturbed by crows and then to roost. Yesterday morning (8 April).
Short-eared Owl hunting at Ham Wall late this afternoon (17.15) between the gate to Avalon Hide and the area in front of VP1, also crossed over to the south side of the drain for a while before returning and eventually disappearing behind the wood in front of VP1. The drake Ring-necked Duck was showing on and off in the channel to the east of Tor hide and the Glossy Ibis was viewable in the muddy area to the NW of VP2, whilst Bittern flights are also becoming more obvious.
