& American golden plover, glossy ibis, Merlin, spoonbills & little stint reported this am on Twitter
Seen photos of SE owl there today
The Yank was there again this morning (but not afternoon), along with at least 4 little stints (others reported from tower hide), & the 7 spoonbills on far side of marsh.
There was still a dark bellied Brent goose at point, along with bar tailed godwits & grey plover, plus marsh harrier, buzzard, sparrowhawk & kestrel around the area (also peregrine reported by others)
A mixed bag of goldfinch, linnet & meadow pipits were in the field behind tower hide, almost joined by a chiffchaff when they flew up into nearby bushes
A very smart juv American Golden Plover was in the southwest corner of Otterhampton Marsh around 9.30 today but it soon flew off, only to be seen briefly from tower hide before settling back on Otterhampton and showing well from the hides. Last I heard, it flew off north with some of the Golden Plover flock at 2pm. Let’s hope it comes back.
Also today, 7 L Stint, 7 Spoonbill, and a few other wader sps, some in good numbers.
