Pretty quiet on the scrape all this week with a male Garganey most days ,a Greensand Piper Tues. and a couple of Blackwits. Significant progress has been made on the new hide ( a new shape for the levels)!  I guess work will continue at least through next week but most of the large pieces are now fitted.

There were 90 Black Tailed Godwits on the Scrape thurs. morning. If the last years Hudwit didn’t go home it might be circulating in this part of the world. Eyes down looking!

Glossy Ibis still present on the scrape this am, and a Grasshopper Warbler heard reeling there (per Alison Everett and Ash Warne on Twitter).

Little Ringed Plover dropped-in on to the near island at 10:45 and departed high to west at 11:45. The Glossy Ibis was present, feeding along the back edge against the reeds.

First sign of mud today at 11.00. The Glossy Ibis and 4 Blackwits were the first to notice it.

Friday p.m.  Water level is dropping quickly, The intention is to leave the pump running into this weekend so the tide should be well out by Monday if not before!
It is likely that the ‘Pod’’  i.e. the top of the new tower hide will be hoisted up into position on Thursday of next week so there will be a little disturbance when that happens.

Natural England put the pump on this morning on the ‘Scrape’ by 1500hrs there was a noticeable tide mark on the reed edge so hopefully barring monsoons the mad should appear by the weekend.
