Meare heath lagoon?

The highlight of a 4 hour visit today was 7 Common Sandpipers dropping in ( joining 3 x Little Egret)  and landing on a tangle of fallen trees on the left hand side of the lagoon on the Shapwick Heath side .  I was grateful for the shelter providing by the new elevated hide as it poured with rain.
Had 3 separate flyover Bittern sightings and usual good views of Marsh Harriers and GW Egret from the Avalon Hide.
