I’m as certain as I can be that the now long singing Blackcap is one that overwintered at home.

Not sure that all singing Blackcaps are necessarily new arrivals, the over-wintering Blackcaps in my Garden have been singing now and again for the past 6 weeks particularly on sunny days.

March 20 was the earliest song in the last 10 years in my records. Perhaps they arrive later on the levels. There were at least 2 males and one female in Ham Wall this morning so there has been a fall this weekend. The other notable change has been the Starlings. A week ago there were still large flocks all around Westhay, now none. It will save me a fortune in bird food.
