Mini Starling murmurations going on by Cheddar Yeo about 8.30 am this weekend - couldn’t count how many birds but a lot!! This might explain the Axbridge activity increase??
Much the same around Axbridge area Martin
I have noticed a big increase in Starling activity in the last week around Westhay. Flying in large flocks from field to field, feeding frantically, clearing out a kilo of hi energy feed from my feeder in 30 minutes etc. Even small areas of grass at road junctions and road verges are covered in very active Starlings at different times. Are they just very hungry, feeding up prior to migration, or are new passage birds passing through Somerset?
