The 2 species seem to have reversed on the levels. I did not see any Siskins in December but several flocks of Redpoll. This month so far I have seen at least 3 flocks of Siskin each numbering 20+ but no sign of any Redpoll. I am able to walk to Westhay Moor, Ham Wall and Shapwick Heath from my home in Westhay.

Single Lesser Redpoll found in Chewton Wood Chewton Mendip last week.

At least 4 Redpolls using garden feeders at and near home. Despite good numbers of Siskins in the local woods I’m still waiting for the first of the Year at home.
