No sign yesterday morning (21), several inaccessible flooded areas so it could still be there but didn’t see it.
Perfect Ken, at least I have right spot. I’ll try & get down over the next couple of days but if anyone has news in the interim, I’d be really grateful.
Hi Nick. Room for quite a few cars. It’s the bridge where Huish Drove crosses the Parrett. You’re right that it’s off the Muchelney Road - just a lane opposite some industrial (meat processing?) Site. There was a short patch of flooding on the road - but shallow. Not heard any news on the bird today, I’m afraid.
Thanks for the heads up Ken? Any news of it still being at Huish?
I’m guessing ‘Black bridge’ is a local name for Huish Bridge where there is parking for 3 or so cars, just down a short track from the Muchelney road? OS Grid Ref: ST 42450 26279
The bird was present until dusk and typically tame. It was on the flooded field immediately south of Black Bridge Car Park just east of the River Parrett along Huish Drove, Huish Episcopi.
Just been shown a video of a Grey Phal taken this morning on flood water at “Black Bridge” Huish Episcopi
