Returning Blackcaps.  2 Males and a Female eating small flowerhead/seeds from a Torbay Palm tree as per previous years.  An aggresive Robin has also taken to the seeds.  Also a Great Spotted Woodpecker has discovered next years Mason Bee larvae in my insect house tubes but did narrowly escape being taken by a local Sparrowhawk in my garden in Bishop’s Hull near Taunton.

My Westhay garden feeders attracted the usual range of birds this morning including a GS Woodpecker, Gold, Green and Chaffinches, Blue and Great tits, Collared Doves and Blackbirds but the reason for this post was a narrow escape for a Robin as a Weasel appeared, dodging between flower pots, and trying to ambush a Robin when it landed on our patio. I have seen one in the same area before but that was a few years ago.
