Thanks Dan, very good point. No I am not sure and the thought had crossed my mind, especially as every other Grasshopper Warbler I have heard at Steart has always been in scrub. I ‘ll be out there again tomorrow!

Dick, a you sure it’s not a Savi’s Warbler?  I had a ‘reel’ in the reedbed at Asda Reserve Frome a few years ago, which turned out to be Savi’s.  Grasshopper aren’t usually in reedbeds.

On the Steart coast path a Northern Wheatear with very colourful breast suggestive of the Greenland race and in the reed bed a reeling Grasshopper Warbler.
