Cold dank evening stroll to Ash Priors produce a flock of mainly 30+ x swallows, with a couple of house martins x 2 & sand martins x 2.
Finally, a single swallow over the garden in Winscombe.

Two Swallows in Westhay village and another at New House Farm at the junction of Shapwick Road and Burtle Road. The 2 Egyptian Geese that have been in the area for a while flew over Shapwick Bridge towards Noah’s at around 12.00. Mr Bell from New House Farm, Westhay has seen them frequently on his land.

I opened my garage door today and ‘released’ at least 6 Small Tortoiseshells.
First one in Ilminster, too. Also saw my first Orange Tip of the year - has been a super day, though.

My first house martins of the spring over Shepton Mallet today.
Single Swallow this morning just outside Frome. Also loads of Chiffchaffs, several singing Blackcaps, Raven on the nest, 6 Buzzards and a Red Kite feeding on something small on the wing.
1 swallow on the River Frome below Spring Gardens this afternoon, plus 1 Green Sandpiper again.
Finally saw my first swallows of the year this afternoon on our constitutional walk, on the edge of Shepton Mallet. Eventually saw four in all, including a flock of three together.
