Blackcap singing by the path to the east hide this morning, several singing Chiff Chaff, 5 Lapwing seeing off a pair of Kestrel and a few Sand Martins through.
Friday 20 March pm - 3 Black Tailed Godwit, 3 Cattle Egret, 7 GWE, kestrel and male and female Marsh Harrier eying up the duck. Still a good number of wigeon, teal, shoveler, gadwall.
Hide very quiet - only 2 other birders visited for short period while I was there.
The ring tailed Hen Harrier put on a good display this afternoon, quartering around the reserve a couple of times. Two Marsh Harriers also about.
Both Peregrine and a Ring tailed Hen Harrier present this afternoon, plus several Marsh Harriers. The Peregrine had several goes at the ducks with no success but well worth watching while the Hen Harrier did two tours of the reserve before disappearing off to the South.
