A single swift over Wellington on Tuesday (10th) near the usual nests, but heading in direct flight south, so not sure if it was a local, or passing through from further north.
A final swift over central Frome on the morning of Friday 6th September. Any others later??
A small group of swifts at Kingweston, near Charlton Mackrell this morning. They were over open country, so presumably migrants, not local birds.
Yay! 2 swifts over central Frome last night around 6.30, with hirundines. I keep watching the sky!

And 3 over central Frome again on Thursday 29th. Perhaps the same 3 as Tuesday 27th? Let’s see if they are still there in September?

I really thought Thursday 22nd was it, then I saw 1 swift over central Frome this morning, Monday 26th!
And another 5 over Frome, to add to the diminishing tide of sickle-birds in our skies.
1 over Wyndham Park Yeovil early afternoon, 4 mid afternoon and 1 early evening.
3 Swifts together over Catcott Lows this morning during rain showers as were many House Martins and quite a few Swallows.
6 over Frome centre Sunday morning, then one mid-morning today.
At least two on my commute home today North of Ilchester at 1pm .
I had thought I’d seen the last of them. I have noted that an extreme date for them at Portland was 13th September in 2018 .
5 or 6 over Butleigh High Street yesterday afternoon.
