One Short-eared Owl showing very close when it over-flew our parked car and then came down to sit on a nearby prominent mole-hill.

A (the?) ringtail harrier over fields between Chilton Polden and the A39, just after 1pm yesterday.

SEO on fence post 2.30 then hunting along rhyne and flying high over the Moor after that.
Pellet on gate post junction Allermoor Drove and Jacks Drove, along with a set of binocular caps, so that’s where to go if you’ve lost yours.
22spp in all seen inc 2 GWE, very satisfying afternoon.

SEO, female hen harrier, peregrine & great white egret this afternoon.

Others reported Merlin, marsh harrier, barn owl & a strange falcon that reminded them of hobby (almost certainly the Catcott calidus peregrine), not to mention kestrel & buzzard…

Managed a count of three SEO at Tealham this afternoon. Sadly they all stayed fairly distant from the road with the exception of the first to show which paid my son George and I a visit.
Also on show were a Peregrine, Ring tail Harrier, Male Marsh Harrier and several Buzzards.

No sign of the ringtail Hen Harrier or any Short-eared Owls on Tealham Moor 15:30 until dusk, but a quartering, immaculate plumage, adult male Marsh Harrier was good and a smart little adult male Merlin was a surprise bonus!

Ringtail Hen Harrier flew in as light was failing this afternoon at Tealham Moor. Seen during my visit here to watch the two Short eared Owls.

Tealham /Tadham Moor this afternoon.  Two short eared owls and a hen harrier (ringtail)  Bit of a squabble between one of the owls and the harrier.
