Amazing sight earlier this morning as the sky filled with (too many to count!) Cattle Egrets flying onto one of the fields near West Park Farm. A very impressive sight. Egrets then dispersed over several fields and were fairly mobile.

Still at least 80 Cattle Egrets (a few out of sight behind the tree-line) on large grass fields opposite West Park Farm at Sharpham (Map ref: ST454378). From A39 in Village of Walton, next to Walton Gateway closed pub, go north on Whitley Lane (becomes Sharpham Lane) taking no side turnings until reaching West Park Farm on the right, when birds in fields on the left.
102 Cattle Egrets in fields opposite West Park Farm south of Sharpham Ponds at 3pm, also 28 in field North of Allermoor Drove, also Great White Egret Tealham Moor. Stephen Curtis and Carol Rushton.
Total of 155 Cattle Egrets at two sites today.
95+ in fields at Sharpham and 60+ with a few Little Egrets along ditch being cleaned out near Tadham Moor.
