Chiloe Wigeon on Noah’s Lake this afternoon and close by a Eurasian Wigeon probably female, single Hobby seen a couple of times in the direction of Decoy Lake. A couple of passing Bitterns were the other thing of interest, Four G.W. Egrets also present.
When walking back in the rain! past the Tower hide overlooking the flooded scrape we became aware of the calls of juvenile Great Whites begging for food and on checking two of the four Great Whites on the scrape island were this years young and they kept up their calls until an adult arrived and regurgitated a meal for them.
Single Common Sandpiper feeding around the base of tree stumps down at water level. 4 Bitterns and several Marsh Harriers plus at least two Hobbies seen occasionally.
