On the subject of unusual Geese - an Egyptian Goose was with the Mute Swans in a large field at Sharpham Lane last night, also a very large fall of Sand Martins feeding over Long Drove Lake on the other side of the road, probably 200 - 300 birds.

There was a Pink-foot that spent time at Shapwick (Noah’s Lake) during the winter of 2010 & Spring 2011 - possibly been hanging out with the Greylags somewhere on the Levels all that time?

Yes, it was 3 years ago, probably not a long time in the life of a lost/wandering Pink-foot, just seems odd that a single bird of this species shows up at the same place twice, I can’t recall any other Pink feet sightings in our area in recent years ?

And still present just after mid-day on the same field as yesterday with the small flock of Greylags & Canadas.

On my Westhay Moor Webs count of 19.01.2015 there was a single Pink Foot on 10 acre Lake, later the same day I re-found it on farmland North West of London Drove associating with Canadas and Greylags, at the time I thought it was probably feral, wonder if it the same bird ?

Pink-footed Goose, still with Greylags and Canadas on roadside large grass field just east of Westhay Moor NNR car park at 16:00.

I thought I probably saw it here a week ago, but sat down in grass at back of the field and only had my binos with me.

Very distant photo, click on this link https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DZJz_mLXkAADXC9.jpg
