Firecrest seen this morning on the Discovery trail not far from the platform area. It was moving around low in the reeds. A couple of Goldcrest were in the area too.

Firecrest still present at Ashcott Corner this morning at about 10:30 hrs, along the sun-kissed roadside edge in ivy-covered trees and bramble by a telegraph pole immediately south of the Ham Wall car park entrance (on opposite side of road). Also a very probable YBW, but only the briefest of glimpses.

Firecrest showed at 9.30 this morning c250m along the boardwalk, approx halfway round the trail, then at 2pm back nearer the car park at the start of the boardwalk.
From Noah’s hide in the morning, an otter was on view circuiting the lake for a good half hour, and birds seen from the hide included merlin, marsh harrier, whooper swan, goldeneye, water rail and kingfisher.

Firecrest still this morning 10:30, circa 100m along Discovery Trail from Ashcott Corner Car Park (about 50m onto boardwalk)

Fantastic colour, with views down to 6ft - wish I’d had a camera!

It, or possibly another bird has been present there for some time, I had a stunning male there in October so could easily have wintered in the area

Fantastic bird, still there this morning. We saw it at the point where the boardwalk begins. Initially close to the path then moving back towards the road,

Yesterday there was a really bright male Firecrest 200m down the Discovery Trail boardwalk that starts from the old Ashcott Corner car park.
