A Quail heard calling a.m. today 23rd June in the fields at Five Bells moving in an easterly direction.

Great afternoon for Quail,between Walton sluice and the willow tree,west side of the road at least 5 birds calling very frequently favouring the meadows without sedge grass.

3 Quail heard singing on Butleigh Moor (2 reasonable near and 1 distant) in roadside grass-fields west of the tarmac section of Walton Drove some 400m north of the bridge over the 18ft Rhyne at about map ref: ST453338

One male Quail briefly singing for a short period late-morning today on Butleigh Moor.

After 2 hours of searching yesterday afternoon to no avail,I had a single Quail calling in the same location this morning.
