At around 9.30 this morning just East of Hurlstone pt what i call Selworthy crag i was alerted by overhead gulls calling and mobbing a Black Kite which was slowly drifting in a Westerly direction towards Hurlstone coastguard lookout what seemed like ages but was probably less than a couple of minutes i lost it to view, racing back to Hurlstone pt scanning around Porlock and the bay area nothing was to be seen, with the light SE breeze its possible it could of headed out to sea or just carried on West down the Exmoor coastline.A few frantic calls to birders East of me i was hoping it may have doubled back up Hurlstone combe but annoyingly looks like this one got away.
