The Cattle Egret was back on waterlogged roadside fields just east of the Westhay Reserve main car park this afternoon.

No sign of the Cattle Egret on Tealham Moor this afternoon, but 3 Grt White Egrets together on the shallow flooding at the western end of the Moor, and another on old roadside peat-workings just east of Westhay Moor NNR.

The Cattle Egret was back at Mudgley this afternoon, feeding among cattle with 17 Little Egrets; having previously looked for it at its recent location on the wet fields just east of Westhay Moor Reserve, where there were 18 Little Egrets.

Cattle Egret this afternoon at Mudgley, feeding in large, wet, grassy fields with 18 Little Egrets immediately south of Mudgley House Farm. View looking north from North Chine Drove, a single-track road which runs east-west across the northern-end of London Drove (track) that crosses Westhay Moor NNR.
I was told it was also present here yesterday, Jan 1st. OS map ref: approx. ST454455.

Cattle Egret still at above location. The Little Egret count has now reached 23, and there’s a Great White as well. Best lot of egrets I’ve ever seen in Britain!

Cattle Egret present at 10:30am to the west of the B3151 just past the Tadham/Tealham turning. The bird was in the company of 7 Little Egrets quite close to the road.

The Cattle Egret was not present in its usual location mid morning today, though there were at least 20 Little Egrets in the field and a Peregrine circling overhead.

Cattle Egret finally located in the fields opposite the entrance to Westhay NR. It was with a small group of Little Egrets close to a larger group of Mute Swans.
