Visited the newly opened Swell Wood bird hide today, intially looked really well done but once inside as someone who has spent hours in the old hide photographing woodland birds, I was dissapointed to see that it’s been designed purely to view the herons. In the form of a very large open front which is exposed the elements and the wildlife, needless to say I won’t be returning anytime soon.
