Late yesterday afternoon after a heavy shower, I was standing next to a large Oak Tree as the sun came back out. Within a few minutes I had seen
Goldcrest finding plenty of caterpillars
Blue Tit
Great Tit including a few that looked like recent fledgings
Coal Tit
Robin
Wren
Chaffinch
Blackbird
Nuthatch
Tree Creeper
Wood Pigeon
Grey Squirrel
Red Admiral butterfly
and House Martins overhead
All common birds but it really brought it home the vital importance of our woodland.
