The Glossy Ibis was feeding far-out in front of the 2nd Viewing Point at Ham Wall, just after mid-day.

The Glossy Ibis flew west over Meare Heath at 17:00 and then dropped down (into the egret roost?) on Noah’s Lake at Shapwick Heath NNR.

The Glossy Ibis flew over Meare Heath from the NE at 16:25 hrs heading SW, presumably to its regular roosting-site on Noah’s Lake.

Glossy Ibis seen in flight again at about 1.30pm today. Spotted from the Avalon hide flying South. At some distance, so would have been close to the Eastern edge of the reserve. Minute image available for ID.

Glossy Ibis in flight at 2.17pm on Sunday. It was heading South fairly high up and flying roughly along the boundary between Loxtons and Walton.

Have distant photo to confirm ID in case anyone needs to see it.

Glossy ibis dropped in to Noah’s at exactly 4pm yesterday evening. Landed on horizontal log to left of hide and still there when we left 20 mins later.

The Glossy Ibis is still about - seen three times in the last few days in flight over Ham Wall by others - mid am on Wednesday, and late afternoon flying from Waltons towards Shapwick Heath both on Friday and today (Sunday).

This evening it flew into Noah’s Lake just after 4pm and spent the next 25 minutes or so having a late feed before flying off to roost at 4.30pm with Little Egrets. They have evidently moved roost site, as they did not land within sight of the hide. At least 4 Great White Egrets did roost on Noah’s, however, out in the middle by the tin shed.
