On a walk up to the monument at Ham Hill this evening we spotted a Tawny Owl perched in the hedge to the left of the path from the car park after hearing a lot of alarm calls. It looked us in the eye for a few seconds before flying off into the denser vegetation.

Also counted at least 40 swifts from the hill top and one bullfinch.
