This morning’s field trip to Horner Woods was well supported. Birding was not easy at times since the woods were fairly quiet. In the end though, a good number of species was recorded. Highlights were Peregrine, Cuckoo (heard), Wood Warbler, Redstart, Pied Flycatcher, Dipper (including a fledgling), Marsh Tit and Grey Wagtail (perched in trees at times!). Pied Flycatchers showed well and it was good to see the success of the nest-box scheme.
