Numbers have grown considerably since you first spotted these Alan. The whole lot was airborne at about 1315hrs today, I guestimated circa 3000 Lapwing and 1000 Golden Plover - probably the largest Golden Plover flock I’ve ever seen north of the Poldens.

Fri 5 Dec. at 3 p.m. approx. 100 Golden Plovers near the Westhay Moor NNR Reserve. Together with at least 200 Lapwing viewed in fairly heavy rain this afternoon so no real totals could be counted.
They were inthe third field East of the Westhay car park, on the south side of the road heading towards Godney, the field currently is quite flooded so they may have to move on.
