An eclipse drake Pintail was at Wimbleball Lake this morning in Cow Moor Bay before being flushed off by a fishing boat and no further sign. Pintails are scarce in West Somerset. A few years ago I found a Pintail at Clatworthy, possibly the only record there. The last previous Pintail record at Wimbleball was in March 2016, also seen by me. Not much else of note except 8 Teal, no doubt attracted by the muddy foreshores.  The water level is still exceptionally low, at 28 per cent of capacity. In 2022 it went below 20 per cent at one point.
