It’s a bit of a long shot, but I thought I would report it, just in case anyone else saw the same bird. I saw the falcon over Glastonbury just after 3 o’clock this afternoon. At first I thought it was a kestrel, but then I noticed it seemed to be hawking insects in the air. Its flight and habits reminded me more of a hobby than a kestrel, but its tail was too long for a hobby, and its wings too short. It gradually flew higher and more distant, and again seemed to be hawking insects as it drifted away. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any binoculars available to confirm what it was.
