I’ve yomped up Brent Knoll several times in the last week hoping the downpours might have dumped some migrants in the Copses around the upper rim but little to see apart from a couple of Willow Warblers, a Wheatear and a significant passage of Swallows on Wednesday. On Monday & Wednesday there were a pair of Sparrowhawks interacting together at the top, suggesting there may have been earlier falls but the birds had moved on.
This morning I didn’t go to the top but surprisingly found a dozen or more Willow Warblers, at least 6 Spotted and a single Pied Flycatcher in hedges to the West of East Brent Church – never seen a migrant Pied Fly in East Brent before !
