Once again Curry Moor is extensively flooded -floodgates closed-, 70 Mute Swans , 200 Canada Geese and two Green Sandpipers visible just past floodgates .
Still widespread shallow flooding , the remnants of Storm Bert ! No sign of last weeks Whooper amongst 110 Mutes . c700 Wigeon , lesser numbers of Teal , Pintail and Shoveler plus 330 Canada Geese .Single Ruff and 30 Golden Plover amongst several thousand Lapwing . Numerous Little Egrets and 3 Great White Egrets plus 22 Cattle Egrets ( I have only ever seen this species here once before) .Also 4 Stonechats , a Kingfisher , several thousand Starlings and c100 Redwing and c100 Fieldfare . No unusual gulls amongst the 5000 Black-headed Gulls .
