The returning adult Mediterranean Gull showed well on the railings at West Quay late afternoon. Incredibly now in its 19th winter. First found by Chris Gladman who used to live in West Somerset. He tracked it in its early years. Surprisingly elusive at times. This is my 4th attempt to see it this winter. It normally turns up late autumn and can stay to February or March.

Mediterranean Gulls can live up to 22 years but average lifespan is about 15.
