High in a pine tree, a Crossbill was seen feeding a juvenile on the Blackdowns this afternoon. Looks like autumnal breeding now.

Flushed 3 woodock on my regular walks on the West Quantocks last week (Bicknoller Combe and Weacome Combe). I very rarely see them so either I was very lucky or they are around in good numbers this year
A couple of observations from the last few days.
1. A Woodcock was accidentally flushed from a bramble patch in a wood near to the RSPCA Animal Centre at West Hatch (7th Nov)
2. There were between 6-8 Crossbills feeding in the trees tops around the Staple Hill carpark on the Blackdown Hills. (9th Nov)
