Now is the time of year when young kingfishers take to the wing and the chances of seeing a kingfisher seem to increase. On 2nd and 3rd July I saw five at four different sites on the Avalon Marshes: Ham Wall, Canada Farm, Noah’s and Meare Marshes. I’m pretty certain these were all different individuals.
