I took part in the 20-mile version of the Mendip Challenge today and made a note of some of the birds I saw:
Cheddar Gorge South:
3 Willow Warbler, 1 Garden Warbler.
Long Wood/Charterhouse Farm:
1 Red Kite, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Redstart singing.
Black Down South:
1 Cuckoo calling (my first on this side of the down since 2015 and my first ever on the Mendip Challenge walk), 1 Willow Warbler.
Hale Coppice (Shute Shelve):
1 Spotted Flycatcher
Elsewhere, I saw two Red Kites over Bleadon and had a Hobby over my house in W-s-M when I got home.
