At Crowcombe Park gate late afternoon 28/4/24
A male redstart, another 2 ring ouzels looking for the last holly berries, a male wheatear and a pair of Mistle thrushes. All very close to the cattle grid entrance.

Nice pair of Ring Ouzels at the top of Bicknoller Combe today. I watched them for a good few minutes before they flew off into the gorse and I never saw them again.
I know they are probably on passage but I hope this is ok to post. Please remove this if you don’t think it is.

A local birder reported a Cuckoo calling from the Longstone Hill area and saw a good number of Pied Flys on the path between Hare Knapp and Shepherd’s Combe, so it’s great to hear spring is in full swing up here.
I will be doing an all-day visit on May 18th (weather permitting) and will try and get a rough idea of the exact numbers of Wood Warblers and Pied Flys on the northern side of the Quantocks. I’ll post the numbers on BirdTrack as I go and will put a post on here outlining where I saw everything.
