Flooding much reduced, a big reduction in wildfowl numbers . 85 Mute Swans , 4 Shelduck , 43 Tufted Duck , still a few Shoveler , Pintail and Gadwall .52 Coot including several birds displaying and carrying sticks .A single 2nd winter Mediterranean Gull amongst c1200 BH Gulls Also 5 Black - tailed Godwits , 3 Sand Martin and a singing Chiffchaff .

Still widespread flooding, flood gates closed. Wildfowl numbers much reduced . 38 Coot - the first here this winter despite weeks of flooding , 29 Shelduck , 56 Tufted Duck , 8 Pochard - very scarce here, 3 Great Crested Grebes and a Marsh Harrier, as well as usual species .

Still extensive flooding and large areas iced over . Good numbers of duck —2500 Wigeon, 750 Teal , 150 Pintail, 25 Shelduck , 50 Shoveler also 420 Canada Geese , 1 Greylag and 4 Egyptian Geese . Plus 6 Stonechat , 1 Chiffchaff and a male Merlin . Still several hundred of both Redwing and Fieldfares - both these thrushes seem to be everywhere on the levels at the moment . Due to the flooding numerous Roe Deer and Hares more noticeable than usual .

Extensive flooding still , road closed .Large influx of wildfowl in last few days . c1000 Wigeon , several hundred Teal , 100 Pintail , 50 Shoveler and 10 Shelduck . A small flock of Dunlin and a Redshank amongst the Lapwing . Still several hundred Redwings and Fieldfare feeding around shallows . Towards Burrowbridge numerous Little Egrets and Cattle Egrets around shallow flooding - Cattle Egrets are fairly scarce around this part of the levels .
