I was last to leave the site today & woodchat was still present at 7pm. Cuckoo & short eared owl still around as well. A real surprise was at least one harbour porpoise at high tide, from beside the hide at start of south breach path (so well up the parrett). Channel wagtail, whinchat wheatear & lesser whitethroat also reported.
Thanks, Graham
Hi Andy. If you look at the flickr link, it shows the exact location on the map… Easy to find, walk to river, left at Parrett hide and walk up to the pond on the bend. In the hedge along there. I was told about it by a gentleman that I see often out and about on the levels. I can’t for the life of me remember his name, that could be long covid, or he never told me. :) Hopefully he will pick this thread up and remind me.
Hasn’t made it on to Birdguides yet - this is a species lots of people would like to go to see, Graham. When and exactly where was it found (and indeed, who by)...?
The Woodchat shrike was showing well at Steart this afternoon.
