On 3rd February I noted a colour-flagged and colour-ringed Red Knot amongst birds moving back to the mudflats after high tide at Steart. Ryan Burrell and Jim Wilson (International Wader Study Group) inform me that this bird was also noted at the same site on January 18th. It was ringed on 21st May 2019 as part of a study of migrating Knot staging in north Norway in May. Jim comments that although they have around 6000 reports, it is rare to get one from SW UK.
