Quiet on Kennard today in pretty grey & blustery conditions.
A siege of 30 herons stood statuesque in a single field. The first time in all the years that I have been coming to Kennard that I’ve seen that.
A wind assisted Merlin went fizzing past me before twisting and turning low across the fields ... and gone!
several male stonechats ... and that’s about it.
1OO Teal & 100 Mallard
80 Lapwing
Several 100’s of Fieldfare / Redwing
Several Little Egret, Heron & Snipe
Green Sandpiper , Kestrel, Stonechat, Reed Bunting.
The highlight for me was flushing a really big & healthy looking Hare which zipped away in grand style with those big black ears! - a beautiful animal.
