A productive walk along the railway line from the Car Park to VP2 and back this morning between 09.00 and 10.30. A Firecrest giving very close views was the highlight. It was around 120 yards west of VP2. Also Goldcrest, Chiffchaff, Grey Wagtail on the cut reed area in Loxtons, a flock of mixed finches including Goldfinch and Siskins. Three Marsh Harriers were patrolling over the area north of VP2 where there was a big increase in Teal numbers since my last visit 10 days ago. I only heard about the Ring necked ducks when I returned to the car park which is just as well as they had flown away by 10.30 and I might have missed the Firecrest!
