Short mid day visit While walking towards Noah’s I was greeted by the sound of a large flock of Lapwing. From the hide around 150 Lapwing were resting actually on the large mats of floating water ‘weed’ that have been wind driven toward the hide. Not I sight that I have seen here before !. Sounded more like Catcortt Lows in mid Winter,
At least 1000 duck and Coot present, mostly Wigeon ,with Shoveller and Gadwall in good numbers, a few Pintail and Tufted but no Teal seen! Single Marsh Harrier and a G.W. Egret present. Returning to Ashcott Corner car park at 1400 a couple of Skeins of Greylag Geese totalling around 100 birds flew west overhead from Ham Wall towards Noah’s
