Whilst doing my daily exercise walk this morning on the coast near Minehead with the dog I was greatly surprised when a Swallow flew by close over my head, so close I could see the white spots on the tail. This is my earliest sighting of a U.K. Swallow by 9 days. The average first arrival date in Somerset in recent years is March 13.
