Like Jon Mattick found in Westhay Moor, the duck numbers were very high for an October count.
11 Great crested Grebe, 2 Little Grebe, 1194 Wigeon, 116 Gadwall, 48 Pintail-all females, 163 Coot, 28 Shoveler, 8 Marsh Harrier (could easily have been more) 20 Tufted Duck, 1 Pochard.
Most of the Wigeon are still on Meare Heath pool but all but one of the Pintail were on Noah’s.
