There has been a good sized flock of Cattle Egrets between 30 and 40 at the far west end of Shapwick Heath over the last couple of days. Egrets are in with a variety of cattle that includes 2 Bulls, Cows and Calves.
At the back of the field a juvenile Buzzard is picking off prey items on the ground and a Kestrel hunts from the overhead wires.
Even a Marsh Harrier flew low over the field and put all the Egrets up.
Also, Hobby in the same area.
Field is viewed over the South Drain.
