07/08 This morning three chicks very active, growing well and starting to fly short distances - showing well from viewing platform way-marked from main car park. Wood Sandpiper on Otterhampton Marsh West.
Pair of Black-winged Stilts with three chicks still present on WWT Stockland Marsh. The chicks should now be more visible from the viewing platform as they grow and become more confident to feed out on the open water under belligerent protection of their parents.
Adults showing well, albeit distantly, this afternoon plus one and possibly more wall butterflies. Nice to meet Roger Ballantine
Thanks Frankie for the scope views and glad we got to the viewing platform, still we had good views of a Hare.
Adults and chicks still present this morning. Access to the viewing platform via the marked footpath will be open until 06:00 today (Sunday), it is likely that access will remain through next week. Distance and heat haze are proving a problem - early morning and late afternoon would be the best times for a visit plus some patience as the birds show well when mobbing potential predators.

Great news Paul. I hope they are successful.
