Exactly the same here on the Mendips. Litton and Chewton Mendip I am hearing greenfinches everywhere. Have been very few in the last few years.

I live in Frome and used to have up to a dozen at a time on my feeders (unbeknown to me at the time I was probably killing them!). Years of seeing none at all - now very occasional 1 or 2 so probably a long way to go to get back to old numbers. Hopefully the ones now have immunity to the disease.

Yes, regularly seeing 2-3 around the garden in Ilminster. A sighting in previous years was a rare occurrence.

No doubt about it in South Somerset, as rare as hen’s teeth in recent years, but this spring I’m hearing them almost everywhere I go locally to Chard., eg at least 5 singing in NE region of Chard town, 3 singing in Wadeford, 2 singing at Peasmarsh & singles in another 4 areas close by. Hopefully they have a good breeding season!

Does anyone think Greenfinch numbers are recovering a bit? Six singing males within walking distance of our house in Wells - only one a couple of years ago, two last year.
