Very high tide and a stiff breeze meant a lot of small waders were sheltering above the tide line. 12 Grey Plover, at least 50 Ringed Plover and some Dunlin and Turnstones seen. Redshanks were still numerous in the estuary off Apex Park earlier. There was also a flock of 20 Skylarks at Huntspill but strangely no Meadow Pipits or Linnets. A very heavy rain and sleet shower cut short my plan to wait until the tide fell further.
