Showing well this afternoon from car park next to the dam.

Birdguides hasn’t posted my twitter message, so I’ll post it here:

Redhead Smew is still at Chard Reservoir today. Seen at 16:20 near the west shore from the car park on the dam, (very distant!)

Redhead Smew still present this morning. After not seeing it for 15 mins, it swam across the Res in front of the hide at 12:15 hrs.

Reported again on avonbirding

And again today.

Smew at the dam end today. Ignore any road closed signs - the lane is now open.

Still present today 24/11/19 & frequenting the north end. Parking as detailed in previous post.

Redhead Smew at Chard Res this pm, favouring the north end & best viewed from the dam, along Chaffcombe Lane. Park in the ‘Fishermen’s Car Park at the far end of the dam.
NB: Chaffcombe Lane is open tomorrow, despite the ‘Road Closed’ signs! Drive with care, roadworks along lane…..& Road will be closed again on Monday I would imagine.
